So Alexeidarling recorded Singing the Journey as podfic! It does not have cover art yet, and I have not made audiobook versions yet, but here are the mp3 files, both in three installments and in one large file:
Singing the Journey, part 1: For This Precious Day
Singing the Journey, part 2: With All of Our Voices
Singing the Journey, part 3: I Have All I NeedSinging the Journey, parts 1-3
Listen, enjoy, and praise Alexei for taking on this big recording project! And watch this space for audiobook versions and links to permanent hosting at the Audiobook Archive. \o/
My baby…
Why is this giving me STJ feels right before I record?
Oh my, this is giving me StJ feels too!
Good heavens. ALL of the feels. I’m imagining Kurt in the second row beaming with pride.

Per the excellent suggestion of Les, a Singing the Journey ficlet to mark my 1000th Tumblr post.
Counting
It’s Monday, which in retrospect is the thing that throws Kurt off. Well, and December, but blaming the end of the term is something Kurt suspects he shouldn’t give in to. If he’s thrown by the end of the term every time, it’s going to be a long two and a half years until graduation.
This right here is why I love love love being friends with amazing writers. (Besides the fact that amazing writers also tend to = amazing people, of course.)
Happy 1000th, Em! And happy 1000th to our very favorite boys! <3
Quick fic for rainbowrites, who’s having a rough day. A bit of Singing the Journey kid fic. :)
Celebrating (A Singing the Journey ficlet)
“Seriously, Kurt, she’s not even one month old yet. Why would you let Rachel throw her a party?” Blaine asks as he wrestles Cora out of yet another formula-soaked onesie.
“She ambushed me!” Kurt collapses into the glider next to Cora’s crib – the crib she has actually not once slept in, since she prefers one of her fathers to hold her all. Night. Long. “I was still inhaling the beautiful steam of the coffee she’d just handed me, and then she said,” he pauses and shifts his voice into his Rachel impersonation, “‘Kurt, won’t you please let me have a party for Cora? She’s sure to be a star, with you and Blaine for parents, and it will be a wonderful note in my biography that emphasizes both my humanity and my prescient sense of future fame.’” He sighs. “I was nodding at the mocha, and maybe in the direction of a bagel, and she took it for agreement.”
Now I wanna know (Am I allowed to ask questions? Tell me ALL the things!):
- did Liz carry Gabriel?
- how did Kurt feel about the, um, depositing process? (I feel like there’s hilarious potential there…)
- how did they decide on names? are the kids named after special people?
- was there a name or names that one of them loved and desperately wanted to use but the other vetoed?
- what’s abigail’s story? how/when/why did they decide their family needed her?
Not!fic kidfic time! Bullets 1 & 2:
What a perfectly Blaine thing to do. And Kurt with his paranoia. Ugh, these precious … (I legit just typed ‘jerks’ then burst out laughing.)
StJ (I Have All I Need): Kurt looks down into the mug he’s holding. “No,” he says, lifting his gaze back to Blaine’s face. “It’s not really my thing. I mean, I don’t feel so weird anymore about you going, or having it as your job.” and then later in StJ (Raising): Now they’re here together, slipping into the empty seats a few rows back from Abigail’s class, and the sense of playing hooky remains. Obv ppl change their minds - I’m curious about Kurt’s journey (& am curious at UU in general). :-
Okay, now to not!fic a bit about StJ Kurt and his journey and blab about UUism:
Em, I just sent this to Linds and told her “I like that she helps me understand you”. S’true, because the very concept of UUism sort of sets my head spinning, even still. (Kind of like the notion of *le gasp* wearing jeans to Sunday morning service. That sort of thing is Just Not Ok at the First Baptist Church.) So, anyway, thanks for helping me better understand such an important part of who my best Lid is. And thanks for giving us more insight into your boys. You know how I adore them. <3

Meme time!
Pick any passage of 500 words or less from any story I’ve written, and comment to this post with that selection. I will then give you the equivalent of a DVD commentary on that snippet: what I was thinking when I wrote it, why I wrote it in the first place, what’s going on in the…
I pick this bit from Planning:
“Liz,” Blaine says, “have you ever noticed that you and Kurt could be cousins?”
Kurt’s eyes light up. “Look at me,” he commands. He examines Liz’s face from every angle while she smiles patiently. “Blaine’s right. We do look alike. Have you ever—”
Oooooh! Yay commentary! Em, your brain is a fun place. ;-)
